By Mutti is founded by ceramist and artist Eva Gernandt. The vision to create these pieces and motives, rich in history, symbolism and meaning, came through from a deep interest and respect for lives lived on the sea, the tradition of old school tattoos and from working on a fishing boat. 

Following a line of female artists, Eva used to run a ceramist studio together with her mother. Today By Mutti is run by the mother daughter duo, Eva and Lill. As the company evolves, inspiration is continually drawn from the eternal sources of love - nature and the sea.
